Spirulina
Spirulina has high nutritional values due to its content in proteins, essential amino
acids, minerals, essential fatty acids, vitamins, and liposoluble antioxidants (vitamin E and
carotenoids).
Lemon Juice
Lemon contains numerous beneficial bioactive compositions, including phenolic compounds
(mainly flavonoids), vitamins, carotenoids, essential oils, minerals, and dietary fiber. The
hepatoprotective (liver protective) effect of lemon may be attributable to the presence of
vitamins, flavonoids, essential oils, and pectin.
Broccoli
Broccoli is a “functional food” that contains bioactive compounds and phytochemicals that
have beneficial health-promoting effects. (Zandani et.al 2021)
Sulforaphane (SF), identified in broccoli, is one of the most fascinating phytochemicals in
the world because it protects aerobic cells against carcinogens and toxic DNA-damaging
electrophiles and oxidants by induction of a network of phase 2 detoxification and
antioxidant enzymes, and by suppressing inflammatory responses.
Parsley
Parsley is a powerful antioxidant and free radical scavenger, especially due to its flavonoid
content. Flavonoids show antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-secretory, anti-proliferative
and anti-ulcer effects in the gastrointestinal tract
Nettle Leaf
Nettle leaf was traditionally regarded as a blood purifier, a stimulating tonic and a diuretic.
Its effects include decreasing inflammation and assisting eliminative function. It is known as
warming and nutritive, popular in skin and joint disease due to its eliminative properties.
Chlorella
Chlorella provides antioxidants that help fight against the oxidative damage caused by free
radicals. (Health Canada 2022)
Chlorella is a well-known algal food of high nutritional value. It binds with heavy metals,
pesticides and carries toxins safely out of the body.
